The Tibidabo Amusement Park becomes the classroom with the best views of Barcelona with the Science, Technology and Environment Educational Activity. This activity offers students the opportunity to study concepts related to these disciplines, putting them into practice on the attractions.

Description
The activity studies concepts related to science, technology and the environment and the attractions of Tibidabo. The students will receive a folder with the scientific and technological explanations related to each of the attractions. Their task, apart from having fun and learning, will be to answer the different questions that are found in the dossier. The students will be able to check, while riding the attraction, the resulting calculations and the physical and environmental effects that occur on the attraction and that were previously explained and discussed.
At all times, they will be accompanied by instructors who will help them complete the tasks and clarify the concepts learned.
This activity is aimed at all educational centers in Catalonia and covers the following courses:
- P5
- Initial primary school cycle
- Middle school cycle
- Upper primary school cycle
- ESO (from 1st to 4th)
- Baccalaureate (scientific-technological, artistic and social-humanistic modality)

Content
- Concept of energy and energy transformations that occur in attractions.
- Collisions between bodies and mechanical elements.
- Transport of electrical energy through conductors of different materials.
- Concepts of speed, acceleration and type of motion: accelerated, retarded, constant, etc.
- Structures and their resistance, efforts in the mechanical elements: traction, compression, torsion, shear and bending.
- Various mechanisms used to transmit effort: connecting rod, crank, pinion and chain, levers, gears, chains, axles, etc.
- Mathematical calculations within the curriculum level: first grade equations and formulas of physical concepts.
- Consequences on the human body of acceleration and velocity due to changes in the position of attraction.
- Concept of machine and performance as tools of progress in a technical environment.
- Data collection in an open environment.
- Concept of sustainability and minimal pollution.
Goals
- Learn different concepts of physics, technology and the environment.
- Understand the energy transformations that occur in the most immediate environment of people through recreational machines such as attractions.
- Sociability of students with and without SEN in a group activity, participative and monitored.
- Make people aware that an amusement park has an added value to the strict entertainment and that it can act as a training facility.
- Motivate students towards science, technology and the environment so that they can develop their abilities in a technological and scientific world.
- Learn to take data in a real, non-academic setting.
- Have fun while learning.
Dossiers
- Primary education (initial cicle)
- Primary education (middle cicle)
- Primary education (high cicle)
- Secondary education (first cicle)
- Secondary education (second cicle)
- Baccalaureate
The dossiers are only available in Catalan.

Schedule
The schedule of the activities is from 10 h to 13:30 h.
How to get here
The school group can come up and down with the Cuca de Llum (from Plaça Doctor Andreu), which will open exclusively for school groups and is included in the reservation. You will be able to arrive with the 9:45 h Cuca de Llum. If you arrive later, you will be able to go up without any problem.
Groups
Groups have a maximum of 25 students, and Tibidabo will host a maximum of 4 groups each day. If there are more students, we will have to make different groups. For this reason, in the event that you are more or less students than the ideal number, we will gather students from different schools in the same group to be able to give the option to participate in the activity to more schools, adjusting the assigned date. Each group will have a monitor person who works at Tibidabo and has training related to Science, Technology and Environment.
Development
The activity consists of a circuit of five attractions with different mechanisms and movements. Along the route, students complete a knowledge dossier suitable for the school year, designed so that they reach conclusions independently, where they will practice calculations and concepts learned at school and throughout the day.
The average duration of each attraction is half an hour between study, experimentation and data taking. Each student takes their dossier with them so that they can continue working in the classroom with the concepts learned.
Attractions
The studied rides will be:
- Muntanya Russa
- Diavolo
- Piratta
- Crash Cars
- Tibidabo Express
The rides can be changed during the day of your visit.

Rates
The rates are 8 €/per person*
The ticket includes the ascent and descent to Tibidabo with the Cuca de Llum (from Plaça Doctor Andreu), which will open exclusively for school groups.
*Minimum 15 students
