Tibidabo celebrates 125 years of shared thrills

The most special moment of the year is finally here... Tibidabo is celebrating its 125th anniversary!

On October 29, 1901, a unique spot was inaugurated at the summit of Barcelona's highest mountain. With the launch of Spain's first funicular, this location gradually evolved into what we now know as Tibidabo—a leisure destination for people of all ages, offering spectacular views of the city, the mountain, and the sea.

Over the course of these 125 years, the people, the attractions, and the city itself have changed, yet Tibidabo has remained part of family memories and Barcelona’s collective imagination. Five generations have experienced the Park as children, adolescents, parents, and grandparents, passing this bond on to the generations that followed.

We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone by looking back and reflecting on everything the Park has experienced. We want to take a journey through time with you. But above all, we want you to be part of this great celebration as we continue to experience exciting adventures and look—together—towards the future of the city's most magical spot.

Save the date for October 4th

The grand celebration for Tibidabo's 125th anniversary will take place next Sunday, October 4th. The festivities will kick off with an activity we had been saving specifically for this occasion: paying tribute to the people of Barcelona who used to hike up to the mountain's summit in the 20th century, we have organized the Tibidabo 125 Years Walk.

The activity will begin at 8:30 am with a walk from Jardinets de Gràcia (in the center of Barcelona) to the Cuca de Llum funicular station. This activity is organized jointly with Barnatresc.

The route will continue with the ascent to the summit via the Cuca de Llum funicular and the big anniversary party, which will take place in the Tibidabo Panoramic Area starting at 10 am. Here, visitors can take part in a unique celebration featuring a wide range of activities. We are preparing a huge cake, a grand parade, and many more surprises to ensure an unforgettable morning.

🚊 The walk will end at the Tibidabo Funicular Station. From there, you can ride up for free and enter the Park, where you can continue the 125th anniversary celebration.

OPTION 2. CELEBRATION AT TIBIDABO
