Tibidabo Amusement Park begins season on the occasion of its 125th anniversary
It will be a year full of surprises at the most magical peak in Barcelona, with a major role for the Park's Mascots, new shows and the culmination of important projects, such as the work of architect Josep Miàs that will shine on the viewpoint of the Panoramic Area, or the reopening of La Masia with the new project by chef Rafa Zafra.
Once again, this emblematic and unique space in the city of Barcelona, managed by BSM – a company of the Barcelona City Council – reaffirms its purpose of offering a complete and accessible leisure experience. The park has 35 attractions that combine historical classics with innovative proposals, a varied gastronomic offer and a wide range of shows adapted to each time of year. A set of spaces and experiences that make Tibidabo a place where young and old get excited, and which maintains, after 125 years, a very special bond with the city and with the families who visit it.
Among the main novelties of the new season are the letters "Barcelona", the new work of the MIAS Arquitectes studio, led by Josep Miàs. It is an installation made up of nine letters built in steel and with their own lighting that will make the views of the city from the Panoramic Area viewpoint even more memorable.
A special day to celebrate 125 years of history and shared emotions
The central event commemorating the 125th anniversary of Tibidabo will coincide with the same month as the park, in October. It will consist of a popular walk that will go from Jardinets de Gràcia to Plaça del Doctor Andreu, where participants will be able to take the Cuca de Llum to reach the park and enjoy a festive day with special activities and proposals.
On the other hand, the Mascots of Tibidabo will have a greater role this season, and will be present throughout the day and will premiere new shows designed for the whole family. This is the case of Colors, the new Mascots film in 4D that will be screened at Dididado, the Tibidabo cinema. Produced by Grup Transversal and Tigrelab, Colors, the Mascots film is suitable for all audiences and can be seen every day the park is open.
The season also incorporates new proposals at the Marionetarium and brings back the popular Laser Show, the light and music show that puts an end to summer nights and which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
Another new feature is the Lego Space, an environment designed for young and old to experiment, learn and have fun together. A meeting point for parents and children where they can build, imagine and dream together through play with this iconic construction universe.
A new gastronomic proposal from the hand of chef Rafa Zafra
Also this year, the new gastronomic proposal from the prestigious chef Rafa Zafra arrives in the historic building of La Masia, in Plaça del Tibidabo. With a unique design by Varis Arquitectes, the new restaurant will be located on the ground floor of the building, will have capacity for 300 people and will have three different spaces: the interior rooms, the terrace and the viewpoint room where you can enjoy unbeatable views of the city. The project, designed for all audiences, was born with the desire to continue offering new ways to enjoy and rediscover the peak of Tibidabo.
