An educative project
The Sant Pau Research Institute (IR Sant Pau) and the Tibidabo Amusement Park have signed a collaboration agreement to promote the dissemination of research with a gender perspective and encourage scientific vocations among children, which will have as its central axis the celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, in February 2025. This agreement is an example of the shared commitment of both entities to promote a more equitable society and aware of the importance of science and the role of women in this field and to promote a project that combines science, a gender perspective, fun and dissemination.
The story: Mariona's great adventure
The project will revolve around the story of Mariona, who is a restless and curious 8-year-old girl in the 3rd grade. She has the superpower of being the most curious girl in the world. When she grows up, she wants to be a researcher, doing experiments all day and thus being able to find the answer to all her questions.
When she was younger, she spent the day playing and doing experiments with her friends, but it's getting harder and harder for her to find friends to play with. Now she wants them to find again the emotion, the illusion and the strength to become the scientists they dreamed of, and she will ask for help from all the boys and girls who visit Tibidabo during the outreach days to give back to their friends the emotion, enthusiasm and strength to become the scientists they dreamed of.
Calendar of activities in Tibidabo
Families will be able to help her activate the main vital organs and live with her the adventure of getting to know the brain, heart and muscles, and the blood that will be activated during the days of July 20, September 21 and November 24, 2024 to enjoy a party on February 9, 2025 where Mariona and her friends will once again be the expert experimenters.
During the three previous days and the celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, various scientific dissemination activities will be carried out by the scientists of Sant Pau: talks, workshops and colloquiums, in addition to activities' games aimed at little ones, such as our giant science puzzle. Everything with a gender perspective.
